The DCU have been active in the local community for over 100 years. We believe in the importance of the local community, not only connecting with the Island’s residents, but also helping to nurture and support local talent, giving those people the opportunity to work with professionals and expressing themselves artistically.  We were therefore delighted to gain full Charity status in 2013, which enables us to work more closely with the Island’s youth in particular. The DCU has close ties with the Manx Gateway drama group and has launched the DCU Bursary, helping deserving students with their theatre studies in the UK.

We are committed, hard working and highly professional both on and off stage, making the DCU an ideal vehicle for sponsors, partners and advertisers with similar values. Our shows often run for two whole weeks – making them one of the longest events in the Manx social calendar. DCU productions are conveniently staged in early February when the Island’s social calendar is at its least busy, making the DCU show THE highlight event of the New Year. Often spanning two whole weeks, our productions are not just one of the popular events in the Manx social calendar, but one the longest running events annually. Our shows also boast an enviable demographic. At each performance you will find people of all ages and from all walks of life. It seems everyone either knows someone in the show or someone’s who’s been to see it!
